MAC lipsticks have to be my all time favourite beauty product. There are so many beautiful colours and finishes. And of course that vanilla scent, it’s amazing!
I thought I would share my collection of neutral shades. My skin tone is quite fair, so I find it hard to wear neutral colours sometimes. Some of these are more wearable for me than others, but sometimes I find it hard to resist a beautiful shade, regardless how it may look on me!
From left to right: Viva Glam II, Kinda Sexy, Honey Love, Woodrose, Strip Poker, Hue.
Viva Glam II Satin
This shade is a brownish mauve nude. The satin finish is a little bit glossy with medium coverage. This is a newer shade in my collection, and I have to say I haven’t been wearing it too often! I think it is a beautiful shade, but I find it to be a little dark for me for everyday wear.
Kinda Sexy Matte
This shade is a brownish pink nude with a little bit of coral. The matte finish is beautiful and full coverage, as I find all MAC matte lipsticks are! I do not wear this one too often, but when I do I always get a lot of compliments. It is a great neutral if you are looking for something a little brighter.
Honey Love Matte
This shade is a neutral light beige nude. Same beautiful matte with full coverage. This is newer to my collection as well. On its own I find it to be a little too brown, so I like to wear it on top of other darker lipsticks to create some dimension. As shown in my previous post, I really like it on top of Mehr. It is a beautiful nude, maybe better suited for someone with a little bit darker skin tone.
Woodrose Lustre (Limited Edition)
This shade is a light brownish mauve nude. It has a glossy finish with light coverage. This is newer in my collection, and I haven’t worn it a lot. But when I do, I really love it! It is really subtle, and also looks great paired on top of matte lipsticks. To me, this one looks a lot like the Honey Love swatch, but the finish makes a huge difference!
Strip Poker Lustre (Limited Edition)
This shade is a peachy light nude. Same beautiful matte finish with full coverage (can you tell I love the matte finishes!). Again, it is one I like to mix with other colours when I want to lighten them up or create dimension. I feel like on its own this one washes me out a bit.
Hue Glaze
This shade is a pinky nude. The glaze finish looks very glossy and is quite light. This is the first MAC lipstick I ever purchased, and to this day it is still one of my favourites! To me, it is the perfect nude, and is great for everyday wear. I have repurchased this one several times, and plan to over and over again!
What are your favourite MAC nude lipsticks? Are there any I should try that work on fair skin tones?
